SplashID 7 Upgrade issues on Android
We sincerely apologize to those of you that have had data loss issues upon upgrading to version 7.0.0 of SplashID Safe for Android. We have identified a bug that causes this, and we missed it during the testing of the final build. We have fixed it in version 7.0.1, so that users updating now will not see this issue, as well as users that never ran version 7.0.0 even though it had been installed.
Unfortunately, 7.0.1 will not bring back your data after 7.0.0 killed it. We are deeply pained by this, and we understand this will be upsetting to many of you. We will do whatever is in our power to make it right.
First off, let's try to restore your data:
1. If you have ever made a backup using the Android app, you can try to restore it. Go to SplashID > Settings > Restore. You will be logged out of the app and then need to login using the password that was set at the time the backup was made.
2. If that doesn't help, or that's not the latest, hopefully you use the SplashID Desktop as well. Delete the Android app and reinstall it to wipe the data, or go to System settings > Apps > SplashID > Clear Data. Then set it up and do a WiFi sync with the SplashID Desktop to restore the data.
3. If that doesn't help, maybe you have some other 3rd party backup system on your Android device, such as Titanium, that you can use to restore your database file. It is called splashid.db.
4. If none of the above helps, perhaps you emailed yourself a vID of your records at some point. If so, you can import that into the SplashID desktop and sync it over to the Android, or import it into the web app and use cloud services to sync it over.
We've set up an email account just to deal with this particular issue. Please email me if you need help or if you are unable to restore your data in any way:
Once again, we apologize for these difficulties and we want you to know that we're committed to working them out.
