IMPORTING DATA

  1. The first time you wish to transfer data from the SplashID desktop to the handheld, go to File > Export > SplashID vID (version 3.x)
  2. Select All Records and set a password if you wish.
  3. Transfer the resulting vID file to your Series 60 phone using a memory card or other means of transfer.
  4. Open SplashID on the phone and go to Options > Import and browse to the vID file.

If you Bluetooth the file to the device, it'll be in:

C:\system\Mail\<cryptic folder name>\<subfolder>\vID file name

Alternatively, use Bluetooth to browse the file contents of the device, and put the vID file in the location you wish.

You can also export vID and CSV files from the handheld application, as of version 3.33. This is a useful way to get data out of the handheld if it has been updated, and send it to a desktop computer where it can be imported into the SplashID desktop. To update the desktop data without duplication, use File > Restore. Please note that this will replace the contents of the desktop application with the selected file, so you will lose any changes that were made only on the desktop.
