SplashClock is a desk clock and image viewer for Palm
OS handhelds. It will display the current date and time with a slideshow
of images in the background. The background images can be JPEG images
stored on an external memory card, or a SplashPhoto PDB image stored
on internal or external memory. Optionally, you may use SplashClock
with SplashPhoto Desktop (a Windows and Macintosh desktop application)
to edit, convert and upload images to a handheld for viewing with SplashClock.
Unzip the SplashClock.zip file using WinZip or similar utility. Double-click
SplashClock.prc to launch the Palm Install Tool, select the appropriate
User, click OK and Done, then perform a HotSync to install SplashClock
on your handheld.
After the HotSync operation is complete, go to the Applications Launcher
on the handheld and tap the SplashClock icon.
When you launch SplashClock you will see the SplashClock loading screen,
then a clock display with an image behind it. Tap the screen to open
the SplashClock Preferences.

Clock Display -- Choose between a digital or
analog clock display (see below).

Size -- Select a size for the clock, Large, Medium
or Small.

Location -- Select a location for the clock display,
Top, Middle or Bottom.

Color -- Select a color for the clock display.

Opacity -- Select an Opacity level (i.e., transparency)
between 10% and 90%. This will determine how much of the background
image can be seen through the clock.

Show Date -- Choose whether or not to display
the date along with the time.

Set Time -- Tap this button to open the Date &
Time Preference panel.

SplashClock can display JPEG images or SplashPhoto PDB images. JPEG
images may be installed on a VFS external memory card using the Palm
Install Tool. The Palm Install Tool will place JPEG images in the /DCIM
or /PALM/Images directory on the VFS card. You may also install JPEG
images with SplashPhoto Desktop. SplashPhoto Desktop will place the
JPEG images in the /Palm/Programs/SplashPhoto directory. Lastly, you
can install SplashPhoto PDB images to internal memory, if you do not
have a VFS external memory card. You must use SplashPhoto Desktop to
create and install SplashPhoto PDB images to internal memory.
SplashClock scans internal and external memory for any SplashPhoto
PDB or JPEG images and displays them in the Images dialog. Images stored
on external memory are displayed with a disk icon next to the image
name. You may choose which images to display by checking them..
- Auto-run while charging -- Select this option if you wish
to automatically run SplashClock whenever the handheld is charging
and idle. If you turn on this option, and your handheld is in the
cradle and about to go to sleep, the SplashClock Slide Show will automatically
run. Note: When you select "Auto-run while charging" in
SplashClock, it will turn off "Stay on in Cradle" in the
Palm OS General Preferences.
- Random order -- Select this option to show slides in random
order. Otherwise, slides will be displayed in alphabetical order.
- Slide Duration -- Specify the delay between images.
